OK Game

April 2021 - ~Late 2021

Ok game was an idle clicker game where you would... send "ok" on a fictional messaging platform similar to Discord.

The idea for the game came from a Discord server I was in, where in a channel everyone was only sending "ok" for weeks (for some reason).

The game would have two types of gameplay: the usual clicker gameplay and another one that was kinda weird

Boss Fights

The game would have boss fights. In the story, you were ddos'ing the other person somehow???

The battles would include 3 phases:

  1. The first phase would require the player to press 3 different buttons by order but on specific times. For example, you would have 1 second to press button 1, then half a second for button 2 and then 2 seconds for button 3. This phase would repeat 3 times. If the player misses a button they will lose 1 HP.
  2. The 2nd phase would include the player clicking on multiple buttons by order under a strict time limit to damage the enemy. Failing to do this wouldn't damage the player.
  3. The 3rd phase would place the player's cursor in a maze, where they would have to traverse it carefully without touching the walls, otherwise they would get hurt. Succeeding in doing it would transition the fight to phase 1 again.

Unfortunately, I can't show footage of the boss fight system. Sometime later in 2021, I would start the game from scratch with the old boss fight code being gone, and the reworked code (before I finally stopped working on the game) was left being broken and extremely unfinished.

Story

You would play as a character named Dell (named after Engineer from Team Fortress 2, because I was obsessed with that game at the time). The story starts with you spamming ok in a discord server, get banned and fight the admin that banned you. After the fight, a hacking group would contact you, asking if you would like to join them. Your choice would change the missions and the ending.

At this point, only the first mission of the hacker path was written (which was basically you and the group duping in a Minecraft P2W server and then fighting the owner.

As for the "sole" path, it was more or less complete. You start spamming in the biggest server, get banned, and fight the owner, and after the fight you somehow steal his 30 million euro from his bank account??? After that, you buy 100 of the most powerful PCs to automate spamming ok, which is when the clicking part of the game stops and you get "mad with power". Later, during a "Team Towers 2" trade with a very rich person, you somehow ddos the servers and receive their most expensive item. Later again, you somehow ddos "Gogel"???? And that site goes down for 3 weeks. 3 months pass by, with nothing happening. But then, the first guy you fought messages you and now he's equally as powerful as you. You win, and it turns out the hacking group was behind this fight, and the CEO fights you for revenge for some reason??? You win, power goes out and the FBI break in your room, knowing of your actions somehow.

Peak writing.

End

Progress on the game was extremely slow, because of me having ADHD. So eventually I lost interest in it, which in hindsight was for the better. The whole game was just dumb and boring, and the story definitely reflects 2021-me.

Also in general the game barely had anything. It had a functional idle clicker system and a badly-coded unfinished boss fight system and nothing else.

Also fun fact, I had a composer for the game! He was doing the music for fun and he was in that Discord server that sparked the inspiration for the game. He made a single song and then stopped and I later stopped working on the game (before trying to rework it).
